I Am Very Safe In Parliament, There’s No Reason To Fear My Colleague MPs – Joe Wise Contradicts Afenyo Markin

MP for Asante Bekwai and 1st deputy speaker of Parliament, Joe Osei Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise has said that he feels very safe in parliament and has absolutely no reason to fear any of his colleague MPs.

The lawmaker’s assertion, however, contradicts that of his colleague, Alexander Afenyo Markin who claimed on Joy FM’s Newsfile program last saturday that he fears for his own life when he is in the chamber of parliament.

Deputy Majority leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin claimed on Newsfile that the NDC MPs seem to have an agenda to get violent to the extent on inflicting harm on those in the majority caucus.

Mr. Afenyo Markin claimed that his side picked up intelligence that the minority caucus had intentions to manhandle Mr. Joe Owusu Owusu after he presided over Parliament and saw the rescission of the house’s earlier rejection of the 2022 budget.
