KNUST Must Focus On Science And Tech, Not Humanities – Expert

Published

A new public university is required in Kumasi in the Ashanti region to offer humanities and business-related courses, a Fraud and Security Analyst, Mr Richard Kumadoe, has said.

This, he said, would allow the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to focus on science-related courses, the main reason for its establishment.

He noted that at the moment, the KNUST has veered off its main focus which is to provide science and technology education at the tertiary level to be focusing on business-related courses and humanities.

In his view, this must change immediately in order to preserve the unique identify of KNUST.

Mr Kumadoe said these while speaking on the New Day show on TV3 Monday May 9.

“We need a new University in Kumasi,” he said adding that “KNUST that is supposed to offer science is no now offering business and other course.”
