Heavy Security Deployed Ahead Of Ghana vs Nigeria Clash – Police

The Police Administration has announced stringent measures as it provides security coverage for the World Cup Qualifiers between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Supper Eagles of Nigeria on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.

As part of measures to assure incident-free event, the Police in concert with other security services will deploy personnel in and around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and within the Kumasi Metropolis in general.

Police say there will be additional deployment of Highway and Motorbike Patrols to augment the existing security deployment along all the eight (8) entry routes into Kumasi and other adjoining regions.

“At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MUD) has made adequate provisions to ensure effective traffic management. In view of this the following roads will be blocked;

a. Britania — Is My Kitchen Restaurant stretch on the north of the Stadium

b. Eastern Stadium: Is My Kitchen Restaurant— Stadium Hotel Stretch

c. South: Amankwaatia School — TI Ahamadiya School

d. Western Side: Britania — TI Ahamadiya School. 5. In partnership with the National Security,

Meanwhile, the Police have indicated it will screen everyone entering the Stadium for offensive and lethal weapons.
