Wontumi Is A Joker; We’ll Take Over Ashanti Region Soon – NDC Chairman

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews says the Region will soon be the party’s new electoral world bank.

According to him, the NDC will pull a surprise in the stronghold region of the NPP by not only retaining their three seats but also win more seats.

His comment comes on the back of a claim by the Ashanti region NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, that they will win all 47 seats in the region.

However speaking in a rebuttal, on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Friday, Mr. Andrews said the claim by Wontumi is a joke.

He was of the belief that, figures recorded by the Electoral Commission (EC) in the NPP stronghold is a hopeful sign of victory ahead.

“Figures by the EC favours the NDC because most of the constituencies like Manhyia recorded low numbers. This is a sign for victory,” he said.

He added: “Wontumi should not dare; I will match him boot-for-boot.”
