The course of the Subin river which was allegedly blocked by the reigning Bantamahene, Baffuor Owusu Amankwatia VI, has been restored as was ordered by the Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu Ababio II.

It will be recalled that we reported last week that the Asantehene nearly destooled the Bantamahene for allegedly constructing stores on land which he was not entitled to, and for diverting the course of the subin river for private gain.

The Bantamahene, also the head of the Kronti division in Asanteman had to beg on his knees for clemency from the Asantehene last week after his misdeeds had been reported to the Overlord who was infuriated at his sub-chiefs actions.

Despite acceding to the pleas of the Bantamahene not to destool him, Otumfuor ordered all the illegally constructed stores to be immediately demolished, and the course of the Subin river restored. In addition, the King also ordered the Bantamahene to provide a total of 42 sheep to pacify the gods.

GhanaFeed.Com can report that the demolition of the stores have began as directed by the Asantehene, while works to restore the course of the Subin river has also began earnestly.

Construction workers and onlookers were screaming in surprise when a giant crocodile emerged from the swamps of the Subin river, probably disturbed by the earth-moving machines. Many onlookers believe that it is the river deity who sought to register his displeasure at the turn of events.
