The Traditional Council and residents of Sakora-Wonoo in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region have sent caution to President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and other government leaders not to dare show up at the funeral of the late, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John.

The angry youth of the area, have promised a showdown should any member of government turn up at the funeral ground.

Queen mother for the town, Nana Ama Nyarko, stated that this was the time for the NPP government to honour Sir John after his demise by tarring their abandoned deplorable road networks before the day for the funeral.

However, the NPP has betrayed its stalwart by failing to honour his hometown.

Convenor for the Concerned Youth of Wonoo Francis Owusu warned that “if the issue of poor roads in the community is not immediately addressed, we will fiercely block government officials who will dare attend the funeral on May 27”.

The Queen Mother has further warned that should the situation remain unchanged, they will not entertain the President or any government official on their land.

“Now, I am boldly saying that we don’t need any of the aforementioned people at Wonoo should our demands are not considered,” Nana Nyarko warned.
