Teachers And Journalist Assaulted By WASSCE Students At Bright SHS

WASSCE candidates have assaulted officials of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) supervising the ongoing WASSCE examination at Bright Senior High School at Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region.

A Daily Graphic reporter in the Region who was on reporting duties in the school was also attacked by the students leaving him with severe injuries after the students spotted him filming them.

The students allegedly went an a rampage smashing the phones of the officials and injuring one of them as signs of their displeasure towards what they call, strict supervision.

Only the presence of a few police officers brought some calm to the situation however the angry students upon realisation that the police had left further subjected Daily Graphic reporter, Emmanuel Pacome to severe beatings.

Eyewitnesses say the furious students seized his mobile phone and a bag containing his personal belongings.

The reporter is said to have reported the case to the Kukurantumi police.
