Tax Churches to Expand the Tax Net – Dr. Kobby Mensah to Gov’t

Political Science lecturer, Dr. Kobby Mensah has urged the government to tax the church to widen the tax net.

He believes government can rake in more revenue because most people are in church.

“Tax the church to expand the tax net. Most of the people are there”, he wrote.

The argument as to whether churches should be taxed continues to linger on in the country.

Most churches have resisted such calls indicating that the church plays a major role in the development of the country by providing schools and other social amenities to support government.
