Pass Your Exams, Build Your Own Legacies Before Attacking Tsatsu – Agyemang Duah Slams Tsikata Critics

Published

on

Chairman of the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), Kwaku Agyemang Duah has taken a swipe at young critics of lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata urging them to build their own legacies before attacking the revered lawyer.

In a post on social media, he noted that young Ghanaians describing Tsatsu as ‘overhyped’ lawyer must first concentrate on passing their exams and making it to the universities before they can be critical of him.

See his post below:

Lately, I have seen comments like “Tsatsu is overrated” and other demeaning statements on my timeline directed at the person and practice of Tsatsu Tsikata Esq.

I decided to find out on my own if indeed the hype surrounding Tsatsu Tsikata in certain quarters was right.

As an Asthmatic person, he mostly missed school. Interestingly however he entered Mfanstispim at 9years having been promoted above his school year. He ended up joining a class with his elder brother.

He graduated the University of Ghana at 18 and proceeded to Oxford to pursue a masters in law.

Did some tutoring at Oxford as a junior research person.

He proceeded back home to Ghana as a lecturer at the University of Ghana.

He taught most if not all the judges currently hearing his case as well as a lot of prominent lawyers currently practicing in this country and I am sure some in England as well given his time at Oxford.

A known asthmatic patient since infancy he is 70years old.

He has enjoyed a good life. Academically, professionally and has contributed greatly to our democracy and our country in many respects

He has represented Mr Sam Okudzeto, Jerry John Rawlings and others in one of the cases with our President Nana Addo Dankwa.

I once read a case bothering on a contract for a bottle of akpeteshie in which he was counsel for one of the parties. This case travelled all the way to the Supreme Court and I think even review.

I am sure most students of law in this country have read this particular case.

My point is that this is a man who has nothing to prove.

The term legend has been bundled around unnecessarily and I am not tempted to bestow it unto him.

In the name of politics, I have seen young people who could barely pass their wassce or even make it to uni throw all sort of insults at this man just because they don’t agree with him politically.

My people say “se wo nyiniy3 a y3nsere akwatia”.

To wit, you don’t laugh at the midget whilst still a child. You might not grow pass the height of the midget.

Before we walked this earth, stage or life others had already walked pass.

We can agree to disagree politically or ideologically but one thing is certain in this life “positions are temporary but class is permanent”

To my fellow youth, whilst at it, build your own legacy!

Kufuor And Akufo-Addo Wanted To Jail Me At All Cost – Tsatsu Tsikata

Published

on

Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), has revealed that former president John Agyekum Kufuor and then Attorney General in 2002, Akufo-Addo were determined to put him behind bars at all cost.

In an interview on TV3, Mr Tsikata said the trial judge, Justice Henrietta Abban “had been adjourning because she had said if she didn’t do that there will be a mistrial.

“She did indicate that if she did not wait for the Supreme Court and the Court of appeal there will be a mistrial. In spite of all that she still went ahead to pronounce judgement on that day. You can’t really make head and tail of that in purely legal terms. The lesson I am trying to draw is this, we will want to have confidence in the judicial system. We want to have confidence that when you go to court the decisions will be based on law and the facts.

“But we also have to recognize that unfortunately that does not always happen. There are other factors that influence the course of justice including the factors political pressure being brought to bear on judges to come to a certain decision at all cost.

“In my case there was no question about the fact that the political pressure from right up to the president level, the Attorney General at that time now President Akufo-Addo, President Kufuor. They were determined that I would have to go to jail.

“That determination seemed to be based on the wish to demonstrate that certain things had not been done right under President Rawlings in the past.”

If Ghana Is Safe, Walk In Town Without Bodyguards – Adib Saani Dares Politicians

Published

on

Security Analyst, Adib Saani has challenged politicians claiming there’s no sense of insecurity in the country to walk in town without bodyguards.

He was reacting to comments by Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry who insisted Ghana is safe because other countries are experiencing worse insecurities.

However, Adib Saani believes there country is no more the safe haven it used to be; adding that even police officers are complaining of insecurities.

“I would advise that they withdraw their personal security detail to prove that indeed, there is security in Ghana. It doesn’t make sense to have a bodyguard when you think all is safe. It is hypocritical and insensitive to maintain your bodyguards at the same time opine that Ghana is safe,” he said in a statement.

He continued: “The trend is so bad that even police personnel complain of insecurity. As expected, a lot more Ghanaians will be enquiring about owning guns. Some might use crooked methods to obtain these weapons. This will invariably birth another major security challenge. How about the other millions of Ghanaians without bodyguards?”

Akufo-Addo Broke No Law By Hiring Private Jet But… – NDC’s Joseph Yammin

Published

on

Former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Joseph Yammin says President Akufo-Addo broke no law by hiring a private jet on his trip to France, however, he could have gone for a less expensive one.

According to Mr Yammin, the President needs protection both internally and externally however, the huge monies spent on luxurious private jets could have done something fir the suffering Ghanaians.

“For me, the President broke no law, but he could have learnt from Prophet Nehemiah in the Bible who built a wall for the Israelites without charge when the people were in captivity. Nana Akufo-Addo could have gone for a less expansive jet if he really had the country at heart”, he said.
