Oppong Nkrumah Reveals Close Contact of Akufo Addo Who Tested Positive for Covid-19

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has disclosed that the president’s decision to go into isolation was as a result of a member of his security detail contracting the Coronavirus.

President Akufo-Addo on July 4 announced his immediate steps to isolate after a close contact tested positive for the virus.

Speaking on Joy News’ Beyond the Lockdown, Oppong Nkrumah said he however can’t disclose the name of the individual but can say he is part of the president’s security detail.

“I cannot put out names but I do know that at least one member of his security detail tested positive and that is why this precaution had to be taken. Because he (the president) then became a contact of this person,” he said.
