Michael Essien’s Twitter Followers Drop From 1.7m to Under 700k After He Publicly Backed LGBTQ+ In Ghana

Ghanaian football star Michael Essien has seen his twitter followership experience a sharp decline from 1.7million to under 700,000 within few hours after he publicly supported LGBTQIA+ group in Ghana.

His comment came after the Police last week raided the office of the LGBTQIA+ community and locked it up.

He wrote on Instagram in support: “We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus community in Ghana,.

He added: “Ghana, support equality.”

He has however pulled down the post after heavy criticisms.
