Massive Confusion Hits Akwatia NPP As Supporters Urge Incumbent MP To Go Independent

There appears to be looming political disaster for the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Akwatia Constituency as thousands of supporters continue to urge the incumbent MP, Ama Sey to contest as an independent candidate.

The incumbent MP, Mercy Ama Gyamfi alias Ama Sey a hairdresser by profession was defeated in the recent parliamentary primaries of the party by a young Legal Practitioner Ernest Yaw Kumi.

But supporters of the MP have maintained that some top National Executives of the NPP particularly the National Women’s Organizer Kate Gyamfua, the Regional Executives, and Some Constituency Executives schemed during the primaries in favour of Ernest Yaw Kumi who won by four(4) votes.

At a health walk organized by supporters of the party yesterday, 6th September, which had the incumbent MP in attendance, thousands of the supporters who were present at the event urged the MP to contest again as an independent candidate, pledging their vote if she were to contest.
