I Don’t Have Any Wife Called Ramatu, Samira Is My Only Wife – Dr Bawumia Finally Speaks

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has finally reacted to the so-called Ramatu Bawumia brouhaha.

In a statement issued on his behalf, the second gentleman Clarifies that he has only one wife; second lady Samira Bawumia, even though his religion permits him to marry more.

The Vice President denies any knowledge of any woman referred to as Ramatu whom many have alleged to be his first wife.

It will be recalled that the Ramatu issue first gained public attention at the Inauguration of President Akufo-Addo when the speaker of parliament, in introducing dignitaries,. mentioned Ramatu Bawumia as the wife of the Vice President.

Though the Speaker quickly clarified the error, the issue has resurrected again after the minority caucus chanted “we want Ramatu” during the State of the Nation address by President Akufo-Addo a few days ago.
