Accra, March 4 – Renowned businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Seidu Agongo, has commenced a month-long initiative to pay the medical bills of women who deliver in four major hospitals in Accra, in the spirit of Ramadan.
Alhaji Agongo started the initiative on Monday, March 3, by settling the medical bills of 25 new child patients at the Child Emergency Out-Patient Department (OPD) of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital’s Child Emergency Ward. Notably, the ward was constructed by Alhaji Agongo in 2018.
In addition to paying the medical bills, Alhaji Agongo also contributed funds for the unit to procure essential medical supplies, including gloves and syringes. Furthermore, he committed to repainting the ward and ensuring all air conditioning units are fully operational for the comfort of both patients and staff.
This initiative is part of Alhaji Agongo’s commitment to helping share his blessings with others during the holy month of Ramadan. “As a people, it is imperative that we stand together, coexist peacefully, and extend unwavering support to one another,” he emphasized.
Alhaji Agongo’s initiative will also cover the medical bills of women who deliver at the 37 Military Hospital, Adabraka Polyclinic, and the Mammobi Polyclinic, all in Accra.
The Ramadan Donation Initiative is a call to action for all to support one another and make a positive impact in their communities. “May Allah accept our supplications in this special month of Ramadan and may it inspire us to give freely and selflessly,” Alhaji Agongo said. “Together, we can make a difference!”
