”Ghanaians Are Still Mentally Enslaved; We Need To Be Independent”-Nana Kay

A communications team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah popularly known as Nana Kay, has said Ghanaians are mentally enslaved and it is about time they become independent.  

He said this when he joined Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Thursday 4th August, 2022.

Nana Kay said that ”from my point of view, we are yet to be independent. The only form of independence we have acquired is the separation from colonial masters but mentally we still under slavery. We need to be mentally independent because when that happens, people would not wait for the government before they start doing something productive for themselves. And the government will also provide the enabling environment to end the high importation rate. I am not a prophet of doom, but if we don’t start producing to consume and export, a dollar might hit 100 cedis since the demand is higher than the supply”.  

He went on to say that government must have shares in all the foreign based companies in the country, adding that it should be the condition for any company that wants to stay in Ghana and work.
