Ejura: I Only Called For Police Assistance Not Military – District Police Commander

The Ejura District Police Commander, DSP Phillip Hammond has said he only called for reinforcement to handle the rampaging protesters and had no idea who added the military.

While being interrogated by the three member committee probing the Ejura violence, DSP Hammond he only made a call for reinforcement and that did not mean the military had to intervene.

“We requested for reinforcement but it is not me personally as the District Commander who requested for the Military. I only requested for reinforcement and they are the team that were brought to me,” he said.

Investigations into the Ejura violence is still going.
