MP for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has written to the Speaker of Parliament, demanding to be granted permission to absent herself from parliamentary business for four more weeks.
The lawmaker has come under intense media scrutiny after it emerged that she has been absent from Parliament since January.
The lawmaker faced intense backlash when her colleague MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong alleged that the Dome MP was holding her party to ransom, asking that she is made the deputy majority leader before she returns to Parliament.
Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah has confirmed that indeed his colleague has written to the Speaker of Parliament, asking for four more weeks of absence from the house.
