Bagbin Compares Joe Wise Approving Budget Behind Him to Bawumia Taking Decisions Behind Akufo-Addo
Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has reacted to the decision of the First Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei Owusus to preside over proceedings that overturned he Mr Bagbin’s earlier ruling rejecting the 2022 budget statement.
During proceedings in Parliament on Thursday December 16, he said “As to whether a vice president can preside over a cabinet which had earlier on taken a decision on a subject matter presided over by the President and without consulting the president to rescind the decision earlier taken, is for your kind debate as instructed but Who am I to say my deputy , the First Deputy Speaker , the Honorable member for Bekwai Constituency , Honorable Joseph Osei Wusu , Joewise, he might have indulged in an act of misconduct tantamount to insubordination?”
Parliament had on Tuesday November 30, approved the 2022 budget statement with First Deputy Speaker, Joe Osei Owusu as sit-in speaker.
This came after the Minority caucus had earlier rejected the budget.
