Christian Atsu‘s partner, Marie-Claire Rupio, has talked about how she is feeling after losing her husband.

The widow responds to those asking about her well-being in a voice tape broadcast by Accra-based Peace FM.

“Hey everyone, a lot of you are asking if I am okay now; I am not but I am trying. I am trying to be strong. I have three kids, they need me. I don’t want to talk, I don’t want to eat, I don’t want to sleep, don’t want to do nothing. I just want to be there with him. But life goes on even though it hurts. It hurts right here so much but I am trying and I will be strong for my kids. I miss him, I miss him so much,” she said in a teary voice.

The Ghanaian footballer’s mortal remains was received solemnly upon its return home after dying in the tragic earthquake in Turkey.

The remains arrived on Turkish Airlines on Sunday, February19,2023, at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

His family, a government team led by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, and a delegation from the Ghana Football Association all attended the reception for the body (GFA).

Members of the clergy, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, Ghana’s ambassador to Turkey, the Ghana Fans Union, other government officials, and others from the football community were also in attendance.
