Amidu Demands Parliament Provide Information On Contentious Agyapa Deal

The office of the Special Prosecutor, headed by Martin Amidu has written to Parliament requesting fro information on the Agyapa Mineral Royalties deal which has generated lots of controversies.

According to the office, the move has become necessary to ascertain whether the deal has the potential to promote corruption.

“This office will be concentrating on any potential of the said transaction(s) to promote and facilitate the suspected commission of corruption and corruption-related offences and advise the government accordingly,” portions of the letter according to sources in parliament reads.

Mr Amidu’s office has given Parliament up to Thursday, September 17, 2020 to provide the information.
