Some rampaging youth in Akatsi attacked a police station in the area last Friday over the death of a suspect in custody.

According to a report by ghanaweb, the suspect fell ill while in custody and was rushed to the Hoggar clinic in Akatsi which he was then transferred to the Ho Teaching hospital but subsequently died.

The news of the death of the suspect caused fury in the youth who stormed the police station with lorry tyres and petrol threatening to burn it down.

They did this while pelting stones and bottles at the building until a timely intervention of a reinforced team of police officials from the Tongu Police Division showed up.
