The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has declined to give a direct ruling to sack absentee MP for Dome Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
Madam Adwoa Safo, together with two others; Kennedy Agyapong and Henry Quartey, MPs for Assin central and Ayawaso Central respectively were hauled before the privileges commitee of parliament for absenting themselves from Parliament without permission.
Among the three, Madam Adwoa Safo refused to appear before the commitee to explain why she absented herself from the house.
The majority caucus, who appear to have fallen out with their colleague MP were expecting the Speaker to make a declaration to declare her seat vacant and dismiss her as MP but the speaker simply referred the matter back to the plenary leaving majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu furious.
It is unclear what steps the majority will take next.
