Rawlings Before His Death Never Wanted NDC To Bury Him – Nana Konadu’s NDP Reveals
One of the wishes of former president Jerry John Rawlings before his demise was that the party he founded, National Democratic Congress (NDC), should not be the one to conduct his funeral rites.
According to the National Democratic Party (NDP), the former president, even at his mother’s funeral, was visibly pained and made his hurt known to John Mahama and the NDC for turning the solemn ceremony into an NDC event. “This was all captured on video.”
The NDP in addressing the media on Monday, November 23, noted that it was also the wish of Jerry John Rawlings to see John Mahama ousted as flagbearer of the NDC.
“When he was alive, he chose not to be a part of John Mahama’s 2020 campaign and it would be disingenuous to seek to make him a part of the campaign now that he is gone. So, the 2020 elections are due in a matter of weeks. But Rawlings is gone. However, ask yourself as a cadre or as a comrade, ask yourself as you mourn his passing, ask yourself as someone who shared the pain that Mahama and his supporters inflicted on Rawlings when he was alive, ask yourself as someone who believes in what Rawlings stood for: would Rawlings want you to vote for a candidate that he thought was not fit to lead the party that he Rawlings founded?
“As a matter of fact, Jerry John Rawlings was eager to see Mahama lose in 2020 [election] because he believed Mahama and his cohorts had departed from the very ideals of probity and accountability upon which the NDC was formed. When Mahama was elected as the flagbearer of the NDC for the 2020 general [election], Rawlings was blunt about Mahama’s intentions. According to Rawlings, Mahama’s intentions are not to win the 2020 general [election]. His intentions are to simply hijack the NDC with his money in an attempt to show up again as the party’s flag bearer in 2024.”

Supreme Court Orders Mahama’s Lawyers To Comply With Their Orders By Wednesday Or Face Sanctions
The Seven-member Supreme Court panel hearing the 2020 Election Petition has ordered the legal team of John Mahama to comply with its orders and file their witness statements by close of Wednesday.
The Court also warned that failure to comply with their order will attract sanctions as imposed by law.
The caution follows an explanation by Counsel for the Petitioner, Tony Lithur that they had opted not to file witness statements as ordered by the court due to pending applications earlier filed.
According to him, Mr. Mahama has filed a stay of proceedings along with an application for the apex court to review the dismissal of his permission to serve the EC some 12 interrogatories.
However, the court insisted that it’s earlier order must be complied with, failure of which can result in the dismissal of the petition.

Just In: Mahama’s Lawyer Hot In Court For Failing To Obey The Orders Of The Supreme Court
Tony Lithur, lawyer for the petitioner in the 2020 Election Petition, John Dramani Mahama has come under severe fire this morning at the Supreme Court following his team’s failure to comply with the order of the Apex Court.
Legal team for John Mahama failed to comply with an order of the Supreme Court which instructed them to file witness statements pending the hearing of the substantive petition.
According to Mr Lithur, their failure to comply with the order of the Court is because of their review of the court’s earlier decision on their interrogatories.
However, a visibly unenthused seven-member panel would have none of the excuses.
After minutes of back and forth between the bench and Mr Lithur, the court has suspended sitting briefly to consider the issues.
