A security analyst, Adam Bonaa has called on the Ghana Police Service (GPS) hierarchy to interdict all officers linked to the alleged murder of Albert Donkor at Nkoranza in the Bono East Region.
Donkor was on 25 April, picked up at his mother’s residence at Kasadjan in the Nkoranza municipality by the police on suspicion of robbery that had occurred on the Nkoranza-Kintampo road
Speaking to Asaase News, Bonaa supported calls for an independent body to investigate the case.
“Why did they not record him, giving out that confession on both on video and audio? If they had done that, as this whole story broke, the first thing that they would have done, would have been to probably share excerpts of this or tell us there is a video or audio recording of the deceased person confessing to this,” he said.
Bonaa added: “Even if they wouldn’t show it to us, some of us will have seen it because some of us work closely with them. But as we speak, they didn’t follow that protocol, so I will again go further to say the police should interdict the officers who were involved immediately while investigation are conducted.”
