The CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Lydia Dsane-Selby, has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
In an interview on Asaase Radio, Dr. Dsane-Selby disclosed that she fell victim to the virus after tests confirmed her positive on Sunday and she immediately proceeded to self isolate.
The former Medical Officer at the Achimota Hospital stated that though she has been strictly observing all WHO preventive protocols, she believes working at the NHIA and the number of people who stream through her office made her caught the virus.
The NHIA boss also indicated that she has reached out to family and friends as well as all contacts she recalls, to self quarantine and seek help from the qualified healthcare professionals.
She went on to advise Ghanaians to continuously go by all safety measures prescribed by health authorities to help curb the spread of the virus while also calling on the general public to stop the stigma but rather show some empathy and support for persons who have contracted Covid-19.
