Information gathered from Citi News suggest that, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sued the Electoral Commission over the later’s decision to organise voter registration exercise in Senior High Schools (SHS).
The Electoral Commission of Ghana, yesterday announced of deployment of registration officials to various Senior High Schools in the country.
However, the opposition NDC and some media personalities were not in agreement with the decision. They argued that, there are increase in cases of covid-19 infections and called for the closure of schools.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh also refute their assertions to close down schools. To the minister, it would be a sin for him to close down schools. He was of the view that, if students are allowed to go to school, it will prevent them from rape predators hence the need for them to be in school.
