The Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region has issued a strong condemnation of the attack and destruction of office property at the party’s Ho Central Constituency office on Tuesday evening.
The incident, which occurred shortly after sunset, is believed to have been carried out by some dissatisfied party members who are reportedly frustrated with the ongoing government appointment process under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
Reports suggest that the perpetrators are upset about the lack of appointments for individuals from the Ho Central Constituency, expressing their grievances in this destructive manner.
In a statement, Mr. Alagbo, a representative of the Volta Regional Youth Wing, admonished those responsible for the attack and warned against any further attempts to resort to similar actions. He emphasized that such behavior contradicts the core values of the NDC and the peaceful approach traditionally upheld by the people of the Volta Region in resolving disagreements.
The statement further highlighted the NDC’s commitment to peace and stability, stressing that the party will not condone any acts of violence or intimidation. The Youth Wing called on all party members to channel their concerns through appropriate and constructive means, reinforcing the message that unity and dialogue are essential for the party’s progress.
Authorities are yet to identify and apprehend those involved in the attack. Meanwhile, the leadership of the NDC in the region has urged members to remain calm and focused on strengthening the party’s structures for future success.
