Mahama Delivered More Infrastructure With Less Resources In Four Years – Adongo Replies Bawumia

Published

on

Member of Parliament(MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Hon. Isaac Adongo has responded to claims by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia that the Akufo Addo led government have had an unparalled infrastructure development recorded.

Speaking at a town hall meeting on August 18, Dr Bawumia disclosed that the total number of projects commenced under President Akufo Addo is 17,334, with 8,746 completed while 8,588 are ongoing.

He further slammed former president John Dramani Mahama for the cost of the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange insisting it could have build four more interchanges.

Isaac Adongo who speaks for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on financial issues reacted to the claims in a short statement saying, “the NDC delivered more infrastructure with less resources under JM in four years.”

He added, “If Ghanaians voted against commissioning of major infrastructure in 2016, do you think they will vote for sod-cutting, an enhanced promise in your last 4 months in office?
Sod cuttings are just enhanced promises and a failed Govt cannot seek solace in more promises on your way out.”

See full statement below:

Hon. Isaac Adongo writes:

“How can a Govt with 4 months left in office show infrastructure record in a town hall meeting? This is what happens when your year of roads is touted with a sod cutting of 26km road. A performance-driven Govt commissions roads and infrastructure projects with 4 months to the end of your term not another round of empty lectures and town hall meetings dubbed results fair.
Are you not proud of your 1 village 1 dugout or reshaping and regravelling or your one-seater toilets? Come to Bolga Soe to commission your embarrassing dugout.
Talk is cheap. The toilets, boreholes, reshaping and school blocks that Ghanaians took for granted are now your superior achievements? So what will the superior record of an Assemblyman look like? We have indeed retrogressed.
While JM was described as incompetent by you for commissioning major infrastructure projects at this time in 2016, you are holding townhall meetings on supposed infrastructure you are ashamed to commission?
Never again. After doubling our public debt in 3 and half years to competently finance corruption and stealing, now come and commission your projects. That’s a true show of infrastructure results.
It is interesting that the President on the day of visiting Western Region with the electorates waiting for him to show his projects, his MP in the area was sitting in a JM visible project with the economic comedian struggling to do the impossible of delivering another confident eloquent lies.
The NDC delivered more infrastructure with less resources under JM in four years.
If Ghanaians voted against commissioning of major infrastructure in 2016, do you think they will vote for sod-cutting, an enhanced promise in your last 4 months in office?
Sod cuttings are just enhanced promises and a failed Govt cannot seek solace in more promises on your way out.Big English and confident eloquent lies best describe your shameful legacy.”

Outspoken Ghanaian Musician, Kwame A Plus has revealed his intention to help veteran actor, Prince Yawson popularly known as Waakye but what is denying him from helping the actor is because he’s a strong NPP supporter.

His reaction comes after the actor’s search for funds to address his health challenges proved futile.

However, Kwame A-Plus believes that, since Waakye is a strong NPP supporter, the NPP should help him. He alleged that the NPP party has been stealing money and can’t help their member.

Galamsey: Which Kind Of President Jails His Citizens And Spare Foreigners? Inusah Fuseini Wonders

Published

on

Former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has criticised President Akufo-Addo for being discriminative in his ‘failed’ fight against illegal mining (galamsey).

Speaking to Citi News, he bemoaned how unjust it is to arrest illegal miners and jail the Ghanaians amongst them whiles the foreigners, most of which are Chinese nationals, are made to go scot free.

“It is unjust to incarcerate Ghanaians for violating the law and letting go of foreigners. Foreigners are not allowed to engage in small-scale mining. Ghanaians have the right to apply for and obtain licenses to engage in small scale mining,” he said.

He hammered and justified former president John Dramani Mahama’s pledge to grant amnesty to these jailed galamseyers should he win the December 2020 polls.

“It is within the prerogative powers of the president to forgive persons who have been incarcerated for breaking the law. These people should know that there is somebody who cares for them. This is not to spite the NPP, the problem we have with small scale mining is how to regulate it for the benefit of Ghanaians. We have come to the conclusion that we cannot continue to prohibit Ghanaians from doing so,” Alhaji Fuseini stated.

Who Are You Coming To Free? How Many People Have Been Jailed For Galamsey? Mahama Quizzed

Published

on

A Deputy Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Benito Owusu-Bio has slammed former president John Dramani Mahama for promising to free jailed illegal miners if he wins the December polls.

John Mahama, at a rally in the Mpohor Constituency in the Western Region vowed to grant amnesty to jailed illegal miners under the Akufo-Addo led administration.

In reaction, Mr. Owusu called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer to come out and make public the number of people that have been jailed because of illegal mining.

“It is an embarrassment because of the person this particular promise is coming from. Currently, he is promising heaven and earth. I know that he will not even win the election. He is promising something that he cannot do. He should tell us how many people have been put behind bars,” he told Citi News.

“Even when we increased the punitive measures, no one was jailed. So I am surprised about what he is talking about. Let him come out and tell us the number of people that were jailed. He is just promising and lying to appeal to the public for votes,” he added.
