The founder and leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen, has affirmed his strong dedication to potentially team up with Kennedy Agyapong, a potential presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the upcoming 2024 election if the situation calls for such cooperation.

During a press conference in Accra on Monday, September 25, 2023, Alan Kyerematen declared his resignation from the NPP and his intention to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 presidential elections.

In the aftermath of Alan Kyerematen’s departure from the ruling party, there is a growing belief among Ghanaians that Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, might align himself with the Movement for Change in the upcoming 2024 election.

However, Kennedy Agyapong has publicly stated on multiple occasions that his decision to campaign for the NPP would depend on how the party conducts its November 4 election.

During an interview with Kwesi Parker-Willson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, the leader of the Movement for Change mentioned that he and Kennedy share common interests, implying that they could potentially collaborate.

He added, “If I listened to Ghanaians, they were hopeful that Kennedy joining me would be beneficial. We both focus on business-related issues. So, we are awaiting the outcome of their November 4 election. After the election, we can engage in discussions to determine the way forward.”
