NDC MP for Ketu South, Abla Dzifa Gomashie has lashed out at MP for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh over comments that he made in respect of the minority’s pressure on government to allocate funds towards the Keta Sea defense project.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, in a recent interview on Accra-based Asempa FM is reported to have said that he will lead people in Kumasi to stage a demonstration against government, should it kowtow to pressure from the minority to allocate funds for the Sea defense project.
According to Dr. Opoku Prempeh, floods had affected Kumasi four times this year alone but there was no provision for Kumasi in the budget.
He, therefore, wondered why the minority will mount pressure on government to make allocation for Keta against other places like Kumasi, especially when the Keta issue was overlooked when they (NDC) were in power.
However, responding to her colleague MP’s comment, Madam Gomashie wondered what Dr. Opoku Prempeh ate or drank before granting the said interview.
Madam Gomashie described her colleague’s comments as despicable, unparliamentary, unministerial and smacks of bigotry and tribalism.
