Lawrence was sacked together with ex-Ghana coach CK Akonnor following the appointment of Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac who has also been sacked after an embarrassing early exit at the ongoing 2021 AFCON.

The 50-year old finally instructed his legal team to resort to the courts after failure to amicably solicit his due from the Kurt Okraku-led GFA.

Until his return to the backroom team of the Black Stars during CK Akonnor’s reign, Lawrence was also part of the Stars team that went to the final and semi-final in 2015 and 2017 respectively.

According to reports, Lawrence intends to use both court, and FIFA to press down his demands for his unpaid bonuses.

He was on a ‘Pay as you go’ contract with the GFA, but series of unpaid arrears has accumulated to the huge sums being demanded by the Jamaican trainer.
