GFA Officials In Germany To Sign Otto Addo As Gov’t’s Favorite, Chris Hughton Tries To Convince Tariq Lamptey

The scramble for the Black Stars Job gets interesting by the day, even though the race has been whittled down to two candidates of Ghanaian origin.

Otto Addo, a former Ghana International who was part of the Black Stars Team for the 2006 world cup, was also the assistant to the recently-sacked Coach, Milovan Rajevac, although he did not join the Black Stars to the AFCON because of Club Commitments with Borussia Dortmund, where he is assistant Coach.

Chris Hughton, on the other hand, is also a well qualified trainer, whose father is a Ghanaian, and who himself is said to speak the Ga language fluently.

The latter is favoured by the government, who are responsible for the payment of all remuneration of Black Stars Coaches, while the former is favored by the Ghana Football Association, the body vested with recognized authority by FIFA to appoint coaches.

Yesterday, award-winning sports journalist, Saddick Adams reported that FA officials have been spotted in Germany apparently in an attempt to convince Otto Addo to take the Black Stars job.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton, who is government’s preferred candidate, has been in the country since last friday holding series of meetings with the families of Chelsea winger, Callum Hudson Odoi, and Brighton Wing back, Tariq Lamptey, trying to get them to commit to the Black Stars.
