Ghanaian journalist Bridget Otoo has advised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be more concerned on the Western, Central and the Greater Accra Regions and not to be obsessed with the Volta Region especially as the EC is set to commence the registration for a new voters’ register in the build up to Election 2020.
She joined the bandwagon of Ghanaians on twitter who have been criticising the government for deploying armed military men to the border towns in the Volta Region to allegedly intimidate Voltarians and also prevent foreigners from taking part in the upcoming compilation of a new voters’ register.
The government has come under scrutiny in recent days after news emerged of the presence of military men in the Volta and Oti Regions.
The opposition NDC led by Former President John Mahama has since then accused President Nana Akuffo-Addo and his NPP government for targeting the Volta Region which has been noted to be a stronghold for the NDC in general elections.
