Our information is that the youths are angry because many of their colleagues, some of whom are heavily pregnant and others nursing mothers, are being kept in police custody for months now. We wish to once again remind the Ghana government that if these individuals are not released and the leadership of Western Togoland self-determination group invited to peaceful dialogue, the security situation in the region will continue to deteriorate,” a statement released by the Bureau of National Communications of the State of Western Togoland, read.
