Medical Negligence is apparently not new at the Ridge Hospital in Accra but for the recent which led to the death of Madam Kafui Kuto, the wife of the Director of Ghana Institute of Languages which had sparked public outcry and serious concerns in the health sector in the country.
The 15-year old of the daughter of the deceased had not complimented the sadness and pain of the death of Madam Kafui by revealing what happened the day the mother left for the Ridge Hospital for treatment which unfortunately led to her demise, “My mom hugged me and my two siblings and said she was going to return but that never happened”.
The 15-year old sadly said, her mother had promised them of her return the day she went to the hospital and they had been eagerly since waiting for her.
Mrs. Kafui Kuto died at the Ridge Hospital of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital due to an alleged wrong prescription of drugs to her when she had gone for treatment.
The whole incident had come to the limelight when the husband of the deceased narrated on a Facebook post, the chilling events of how nurses laughed without the least of empathy as a doctor scolded his colleague doctor for prescribing the wrong drugs for the treatment of the deceased who was his wife.
The daughter also said, she was however controlling crying in front of her younger siblings after he dad confirmed the story to her.
Meanwhile, Dr. Emmanuel Srofeny, the Medical Director at Ridge Hospital told the media that, a special committee of probe has been set up to investigate the actions which led to the unfortunate death of Mrs Kuto as a statement has been released to that effect.
