You Collapsed The Economy With Seth Terkper – Buaben Asamoa to Mahama
The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has said that ex-President John Mahama collapsed the economy with Seth Terkper, the former Minister for Finance and Economic Planning for Ghana.
On Monday 3rd March 2022, ex-President Mahama gave a speech on the theme “Ghana at a Crossroad”. In his presentation he said that President Akufo-Addo should dismiss the Finance Minister and the Economic Management Team under the leadership of vice-President Dr. Bawumia describing him as a self-styled economic messiah to a poster boy.
Yaw Buabeng, making his submission, he said, “Mahama says he would have used 9 billion to restore the financial sector crises instead of the 25 billion NPP used. It’s a complete lie. In 2014 World Bank required him to overhaul the financial sector after they investigated instabilities in the banking and saving and loans sectors and he invested 8billion in his attempts to restore the sector but to no avail. When the NPP assumed power, we restored the financial sectors. We didn’t collapse any bank but consolidated it”.
“Stop the e-levy 419. Ghanaians do not have hope in your words of repealing the e-levy because there is no way you will do it and in what capacity are you talking because your rulership has come to an end”, he reminded him.
He added that John Mahama collapsed the financial sector and he is now using emotional appeal to gain favour in the sight of Ghanaians but that will not work.
He is asking President Akufo-Addo to suspend the finance Minister and the EMT for who? Seth Terkper the same person who collided with him to collapse the economy? We won’t collapse the Economic Management Team”, he added.
