Kennedy Agyapong, a Member of Parliament representing Assin Central and an aspirant for the position of NPP Flagbearer, claims that the New Patriotic Party actually lost the 2024 election back in 2022.
He asserts that the ruling political party disappointed the citizens of Ghana during a crucial time when their support was most needed.
At a rally following a health walk, Kennedy Agyapong stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) essentially lost the 2024 election in 2022. He emphasized that the depreciation of the cedi, which negatively impacted various groups including business owners and tomato sellers, led to the people of Ghana choosing to vote against the NPP.
Additionally, when middle-class individuals faced difficulties with their bonds and pensioners experienced mistreatment and financial issues, the decision to vote against the NPP became evident. A general pattern emerged wherein, during times of hardship when people refrained from voicing their concerns, it indicated their inclination to vote against the NPP, he said.
Kennedy Agyapong expressed his belief that he is a modern-day David who will rescue Ghana from its current challenges.
Drawing a parallel to the biblical story of David, who was chosen as the King of Israel for his bravery in protecting his flock from wild animals, Agyapong proclaimed himself as the only courageous figure within the NPP. He stated that he is destined to lead the nation and emphasized his role as Ghana’s potential savior.
Kennedy Agyapong is among the four individuals, including Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh, who will compete in the party’s delegates congress scheduled for November 4, 2023. This follows his second-place finish in the August 26 Super delegates polls.
