Volta Region Will Soon Be NPP’s Commercial Bank – Sammi Awuku

National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Sammi Awuku has insisted the party is making efforts to ensure they are able to compete fiercely with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for votes in the Volta region.

The Volta region is known to be a stronghold of the NDC. However, Sammi Awuku in addressing party folks and executives at the launch of a 30-member Volta regional campaign committee in Ho on Sunday, stressed the NPP will soon be a force to reckon with in the area.

“For us, we are also targeting that we will move from our microfinance level in this region to be a commercial bank in this region and compete,” he stated.

He added, We [NPP] will not accept any form of intimidation. People should come to us with ideas, the NPP will not be cowed into submission that this [Volta Region] should be an exclusive preserve of the opposition party.”
