During a visit to Ashaiman as part of his Greater Accra regional community engagement tour, John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections, encountered a striking display of frustration from a woman believed to be in her early thirties.
Overwhelmed by the economic challenges facing the country, the woman was seen rolling on the bare ground, repeatedly chanting, “Mahama, we are suffering.”
The emotional scene unfolded as the woman broke down in tears, expressing her deep anguish over Ghana’s current economic conditions under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Her distress captured the attention of those present, highlighting the palpable dissatisfaction some citizens feel about the state of the economy.
One of the NDC sympathizers quickly moved to console her, helping her up and guiding her to join the crowd that had gathered to welcome the NDC flagbearer. The incident underscored the level of frustration among some Ghanaians as the nation approaches the 2024 elections.
