The NPP Should Not Be Held Hostage By Anyone – Deputy Youth Organizer

The NPP USA branch’s Deputy Youth Organiser believes the party must find a way to resolve the concerns surrounding Dome Kwabenya MP Adwoa Safo’s absence from Parliament as soon as possible.

Prince Kamal Gumah, who is also running for the position of National Youth Organiser in the party, spoke to JoyNews and asked for a quick conclusion.

“No one in the NPP should think he can hold the party hostage, not Adwoa Sarfo, no one in the party should think he can hold the party hostage.”

“For example, if Adwoa Sarfo is guilty, she will never hold the NPP to ransom because she understands the importance of the party and what it stands for,” he said.

Kennedy Agyepong and Michael Okyere Baafi, both senior members of the NPP, have accused the Gender Minister of blackmailing and keeping the government hostage.

The Assin Central Member of Parliament is irritated by Sarah Adwoa Safo, the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya.

Kennedy Agyapong claimed that his colleague’s actions and inactivity are holding government hostage, while the New Juabeng South MP claimed that the former Deputy Majority Leader’s constant absence from Parliament is making government work difficult in the chamber.

Ben Ephson, Managing News Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, has urged the ruling party’s leadership to take a firm stance on Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo.

The pollster stated in an interview with Evans Mensah on Top Story on Thursday that Adwoa Safo’s ongoing absence from Parliament posed a major threat to the party’s future.

Mr Ephson stated that the legislator’s behavior should not be tolerated, and that she should be replaced if her behavior continues.

Prince Kamal Gumah, on the other hand, does not concur with this viewpoint. If Adwoa Safo is ousted from the party and a by-election is held, he does not believe the party will win.

“They should conduct their inquiry; if she is capable of doing that, what are the chances that if we remove her and hold a by-election, we will win? We need to put everything on the table and discuss it as a party,” he said.
