Consider Abronye, Others From My Region As Running Mate – Dormaahene Tells Bawumia

Dormaahene, Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, has called on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana and prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to broaden his search for a running mate ahead of the 2024 elections.

In a statement issued recently, Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II emphasized the importance of considering candidates from various regions within the NPP’s ranks. He cautioned against favoritism towards any single region in the selection process, stressing the need for inclusivity to foster unity and garner support from across the nation.

“There seems to be a perception that one region has the sole prerogative to select a running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. However, this should not be the case,” asserted Dormaahene. “The NPP boasts of capable individuals from diverse regions, all of whom deserve consideration in the decision-making process.”

Highlighting potential candidates from the Bono Region, Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II named Adjei Mensah Korsah, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, and Kwaku Agyemang Manu as qualified contenders for the role of running mate. He emphasized the capabilities and qualifications of these individuals, underlining their capacity to contribute to the party’s success and advance the interests of the Bono Region.

“We in the Bono Region have a vested interest in the selection of the NPP’s running mate. Our candidates, such as Adjei Mensah Korsah, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, and Kwaku Agyemang Manu, possess the requisite skills and experience to effectively support Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy,” stated Dormaahene. “Furthermore, considering candidates from our region will demonstrate the party’s commitment to inclusivity and equitable representation.”

Dormaahene’s remarks come amidst speculation regarding the NPP’s choice for the position of running mate. With Dr. Bawumia expected to announce his selection imminently, the call for a comprehensive consideration of candidates from various regions underscores the party’s efforts to appeal to a broad spectrum of voters.

The Dormaahene also suggested that even figures like Abronye DC could be considered for the role, highlighting the potential for diverse representation within the party’s leadership structure.

In conclusion, Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II reiterated the importance of embracing diversity and inclusivity in the selection process, urging Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP leadership to prioritize the interests of all regions as they finalize their decision on the party’s running mate for the 2024 elections.
