Social Media Reacts As Ghana Likely to Get Its First Female Vice President After 63 Years

Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama earlier announced the appointment of  former Minister of Education Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as his Vice Presidential running mate ahead of the December polls.

Confirming the news on twitter, the former president said, “the @OfficialNDCGh, this afternoon, unanimously, endorsed my nomination of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as my Running Mate for the December 2020 election. She is God-fearing, a distinguished scholar, a conscientious public servant & a role model.

This announcement was met with huge reactions on social media site twitter as Ghanaians shared their feelings of the likelihood to have a female vice president for the first time after 63 years.
