A God-Fearing Woman, A Distinguished Scholar – John Mahama Explains Why He Chose Prof. Opoku Agyemang

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress for the 2020 general election, John Dramani Mahama has explained his decision to settle on Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as his running mate for the 2020 election.

Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, is said to have faced several hurdles before she was accepted as the running mate of the former President.

However, in officially announcing his selection of the astute professor as his running mate, the former President explained that the good Professor is God-fearing, a distinguished scholar, and a role model.

He wrote, “The National Executive Committee of our great party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) this afternoon, unanimously, endorsed my nomination of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as my Running Mate for the December 2020 election. Naana Jane is God-fearing, a distinguished scholar, a conscientious public servant and a role model”.
