Retiring Chief Of Defence Staff’s Due Date Extended By President

The retiring Chief Of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Akwa has had his service extended six(6) more months by the president, Nana Akufo-Addo.

It has been confirmed that the General was due for retirement this week but for some reasons has his duty of service extended into 2021 by the President of the Republic.

Lieutenant General OB Akwa was appointed the Chief of  Defence Staff by the erstwhile president of Ghana, Mahama in 2016, July 1.

His service was expected to end on Saturday, June 20, 2020, but he will stay in office until January 2021.
