Rawlings Accuses Ahwoi Of Attempt To Push Away Mahama And Take Over NDC In 2024

Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings has fingered Prof Kwamena Ahwoi for attempt to push away the current flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and his running mate, Prof Jane Naana Agyemang and finally take over the party in 2024.

In a post on his Twitter page, the former president emphatically stated that the Ahwois are convinced that John Mahama stands no chance of winning the December polls, therefore they tried to play their own tactics and replace him with their preferred candidate in 2024.

Mr Rawlings is of the conviction the Prof Ahwoi’s book, ‘Working With Rawlings’, is an attempt to taint his reputation to aid them take over the NDC.

“Their cunning calculation is that Mahama and his running mate will step aside after 2020 while they consolidate their control over the party and provide their own flag-bearer and running mate for 2024,” he stated.

Rawlings further added, “people like him do not expect the NPP to let go of 2020, so they are hoping to utilize the opportunity of a loss to damage Rawlings with some viscous, manufactured stuff.”
