Only About 20% Of Our Work Was Made Up Of Ghana Black Stars – Kwasi Nyantakyi

Former Ghana Football Association President Kwasi Nyantakyi claims he did not focus too much on the Black Stars during his tenure.

The senior national team has appeared in two championships, seven AFCON semifinals, and the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

During Nyantakyi’s presidency, the Black Stars competed in all three FIFA World Cup editions.

A portion of the media has chastised the former CAF 1st Vice President, claiming that his team’s concentrate on the Black Stars has come at the expense of the federation’s other goods.

In an interview with GTV Sports+, he revealed that the Black Stars made up less than 20% of the FA’s roster.

“If you look at our work back then, the Black Stars accounted for less than 20% of our time,” he confessed.

“Without a doubt, the Black Stars are the flagship; every country has at least one senior national team.” The media and public’s interest in the Black Stars, on the other hand, has lifted it above the other goods we’re involved with over the years,” he remarked.

“We do a lot of things, including officiating, youth football, and women’s football, among other things, but the media and public’s interest in these other items isn’t the same.”

Even during Black Stars training, there is a lot of media and public interest, but when you go to an international match involving the women’s U17 or U20, you hardly find top media people covering it, so, in the end, the Black Stars appear to be receiving more attention from the public, but it is more convenient for people to focus solely on the GFA.”
