Npp Primaries: Asante Akyem Central Aspirant Accuses Incumbent Of ‘Mafia Tactics’

An aspiring candidate in the Npp parliamentary primaries in the Asante Akyem Central Constituency, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has accused the incumbent MP, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi of employing ‘mafia tactics’ in order to win the election at all cost.

Mr. Ofosu Nkansah, the CEO for Accra Digital Center and a publicly proclaimed foot soldier of the New Patriotic Party, in a series of posts on social media, accused his senior colleague of trying to use negative tactics to lay hold on the parliamentary seat.

Kofi Ofosu accused the incumbent MP of hiring the services of Thugs to attack innocent people, instilling fear in them so as to force them from voting or monitoring the process.

Mr. Nkansah also made a series of allegations, basically alleging that the election is practically being stolen from him, as deduced from his posts below.

It Is Everyone’s Responsibility to Stay Safe, You Have to Live Before You Can Vote – EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) has bemoaned the disregard of Covid-19 protocols by Ghanaians who are registering for the new voters’ card.

The Director General of Services at the EC, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe charged Ghanaians to take precaution and adhere to the social distancing protocols as it is everyone’s responsibility to stay safe.

Speaking on the Happy Morning show, Mr Quaicoe said, “you have to live before you can vote. Observe the social distancing protocol because COVID-19 is real. Know that if you contract the sickness you will pose a danger to yourself and others so you need to observe the social distancing.”

He noted that it is not about having lots of policemen on the ground to enforce the law, rather it is everyone’s responsibilty to stay safe.

“Everyone registering is 18 years and above so people should be responsible. They must know that if they don’t follow protocols they will be putting themselves in danger. No matter what the security persons do, it depends on the individual. But we have informed our people that anyone without nose mask must not be registered”, he stressed.

He called on Ghanaians to remain patient as they’ll ensure they move to every polling station to register everyone.
