Information emerging from New Juaben suggests aspirants are on a spending spree as they dole out monies to delegates.
According to GhanaWeb, while contender Michael Okyere Baafi is splashing GHC4,000 to each delegate, incumbent Mark Assibey-Yeboah is giving $1,000.
The New Juaben South is one of the hottest constituencies in the Eastern Region as it has never had a parliamentary candidate stay more than one term.
However, Dr. Assibey-Yeboah has held the fort for two terms, and campaigns have been so high against him this time.
Some constituency executives were seen displaying their tumb-printed ballot papers to indicate who they had voted for.
The New Juaben South Organiser, Alhaji Abubakar Alhassan aka B. Wassa, displayed his ballot paper before putting it in the ballot box. He defended that everyone knows his preferred candidate so nothing wrong with him showing it.
Voting started at 7am in all 35 voting centers in the Constituency in a calm manner amidst tight security.
