Some unhappy communicators of the ruling New Patriotic Party has descended on the Agbobomefia of Asogli State and President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede XIV for calling out the government in the infamous Agyapa deal.
Togbe Afede yesterday reacted to a fake communique issued in his name and signature on behalf of the National House of Chiefs, which condemned the flagbearer of the opposition NDC, John Dramani Mahama over supposed “ethnocentric comments”.
According to the revered traditional ruler, he did not issue any such statement or caused such to be publish. The Chief accused the government of trying to use the name of the House of Chiefs to attempt to cover up the much criticized Agyapa Royalties deal which he described as “shrouded in mystery”.
However, the Chief’s response appears to have angered communicators of the ruling party who have descended on him, calling him “dishonest” and splashing his personal details including his phone and email contacts online in a bid to drive home their point.
According to these communicators, if the Agyapa deal is shrouded in mystery, why then was the Chief involved in a similar deal under the erstwhile government?
