No Ex Gratia For You – NPP Chairman Warns NDC MPs For Rejecting The E-Levy

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman for Cape Coast North constituency, Mr. Stephen Kojo Arhin, has called on the government to annul the minority’s ex gratia if they refuse to recognize the bill’s passing due to the minority’s continued rejection of the planned E-levy.

Mr. Kojo Arhin, also known in politics as Wewebi, voiced dissatisfaction with the selfish interests of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs) who do not consider the country’s or economy’s progress.

Mr. Kojo Arhin, speaking to the media at his home, urged the Minority in Parliament to stop politicizing the planned E-levy and instead work with the majority to approve the bill as quickly as possible.

As a result, he urged Ghanaians to hold the Minority in parliament accountable if the country’s economy deteriorated.

Mr. Kojo Arhin observed, “The tax payers’ money being used to pay and buy cars for the same MPs who have been rejecting the E-levy.”

Mr. Kojo Arhin stated that the proposed Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) will not be used to line the pockets of President Nana Addo and his Vice President, Dr. Mohammadu Bawumia, but will instead be utilized to fund enormous development projects without the use of loans.

Mr. Kojo Arhin urged the “obstinate” Minority in Parliament to embrace the E-levy as soon as possible in order to strengthen Ghana’s economy.
